| The first occupants of the house were the Honourable
judge Samuel Cornwallis Monk family... they lived here for 10 years
from 1872 to 1882.
The judge's
only daughter, Louise-Amélia, kept
a diary. We were able to retrace the precious handwritten book and
share it with our guests... more than 200 pages of fascinating confidence.
The judge's wife,
Rosalie-Caroline Debartzch, was also a famous diarist. In 2006, her
own diary written in 1839 has been designated
as a historical document by the Province
of Québec. |
